Ponies coming from Abroad (not England) - If you wish to jump in Grade A 148cms Competitions in Ireland you must have proof that the pony has jumped the equivalent of 1.30M competitions.  The BSJA rule still apples whereby Sterling winnings are transferred into points.

Veterinary Matters

  1. All animals must be vaccinated against equine influenza.  The minimum requirement is that the animal should receive a primary vaccine followed by a booster not less than 21 days and not more than 92 days apart.  After this an annual booster is required.  Random checks may be carried out at shows.  These vaccines can be got at a reduced rate of 20 EURO for ponies attending Measuring Centres.
  2. Cruelty to horses/ponies is very serious and is a criminal offence.  Owners should note that if an instance is reported to the Assoc. it will be investigated and action will be taken.  It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that their horse/pony is cared for and treated correctly.  Owners should pay particular attention to the manner in which their pony is presented at a Measuring Centre.
  3. It is forbidden to use prohibited substances, performance enhancing drugs and painkillers as specified under FEI rules at all SJAI affiliated shows.  Random sampling will take place and severe fines including immediate disqualification will be enforced on animals found positive.
