Dear Parents,
We would sincerely like to thank all the parents and families who supported our fashion show last week.   It was indeed a great success as everybody enjoyed their night.   A figure of around €6,000 has been raised so far and it is hoped that this figure will increase when two pieces  of Jewellery will be raffled in the next term.

We would like to thank Mr. John Harrison for sponsoring the items of jewellery.   We were delighted that Harrison Jewellers agreed to supply jewellery for our models on the night of the fashion show.

A special Thank You must go to the parents who supplied spot prizes from local businesses in Limerick and to the Parents Association for their help and support in organising the fashion show.  Well done also to Kevin Prendergast and Carol-Ann Guinee who performed so well with the Bennis School of dancing at our break during the fashion show.

Easter Holidays

The school will close for the holidays at Easter at 1p.m. on Friday next the 11th of April.

Our school will re-open on April the 28th at 9a.m.

Hurling

Our U 10’s and U 11’s will have their first matches this week.  The U 10’s will play Patrickswell while the U 11 ½ ‘s will play J.F.K.   Our U 13’s lost to St. Johns last week on a scoreline of 5-1 to 4-0.   Best for St. Paul’s were Karl Liebehr, Glen Mulcahy and Sean O’Mahony.   They will play the Gaelscoil in their next match.

Basketball

Basketball in the school has been very busy in the past few weeks.

The school league has begun and most teams have played two games already.   Thanks to all the parents that have come out to support this.   The Hawks are top of the league table with two wins from two games.   The school website will have a copy of the league table and scores of all matches put up in the next few days.  It will be

updated weekly, and there will be photos from some of the games added soon.

Junior Infants Applications 2004.

The Board of Management of St. Paul’s N.S. met recently to discuss the accommodation situation in our school.   It was decided that due to the cut backs by the government and the lack of proper accommodation provided by the Department St. Paul’s would only take in 60 pupils that is two Junior Infant classes.   All places are now filled for 2004 and the School will not be taking any more applications.

There are a lot of applications for 2005 and 2006.  If you are looking for a place for your child in these years it is advisable to look as soon as possible as places will be limited to 60.   All classes next year are full except for 1st class which has a limited number of places available.
