Dear Past Pupil
The year 2006 represents a very significant year for St. Attracta’s N.S. In 1956 the present building was blessed and officially opened. In the intervening years a lot of changes have taken place. We would like to celebrate the school’s 50 th birthday by re-uniting teachers, pupils and parents in a week-end of fun and nostalgia. We hope to bring together our fond memories from the classroom and the yard in an atmosphere of celebration and joy.
The week-end we have in mind is the 28 th, 29 th and the 30 th of July 2006. There will be a number of activities planned culminating in a buffet supper in the CBD Sports Complex on Sat, July 29 th at 9.30pm. We hope to have a special mass and a photographic exhibition in the school on Saturday, July 29 th. You might be able to spot yourself from your particular class photo of yesteryear! We are hoping to make the event a memorable one and any printed or spare copy of a photo you have from a particular year/class would be most welcome. You can send them to the above address.
We also hope to launch a booklet to commemorate the event. Any stories/articles of interest you might like to include should be forwarded to us. These may/may not be published. We are hoping for a very large attendance and the timing of the event has been fixed for the end of July to coincide with the holiday season. There will be a detailed list of activities planned for the week-end with the emphasis on fun and entertainment. Hopefully we will be able to reach as many past pupils and teachers as possible. Any project like this involves cost. Voluntary contributions would be most welcome and you can send these to the following a/c at the Bank of Ireland, Charlestown #28982368, Sort Code 905360. If you intend coming to the buffet on the Saturday night please sign the confirmation slip below and return it to us as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you. Your attendance will greatly add to the occasion in what we hope will be one of the highlights of the 2006 holiday season.
