Paul used to believe that only the Jews knew God and that righteousness (a right relationship with God) came by keeping God's Law See the change of the Good News! Paul now is not ashamed to proclaim 1.16,17 Salvation of everyone who believes. Righteousness from God... by faith from first to last

Why do we need a right relationship from God? 23 all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God 16

What does it cost? Justified freely by his grace.. by Christ Jesus Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himseff A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're Th and restored us to where he always wanted us to be (E Peterson)

How do we receive it? 22 through faith in Jesus Christ receive and rest on him alone for salvation' (Shorter Catechism)

The Law of God 3.20 p1130

surpasses our strength shows us our sin sends us to the Saviour sets the standard for our behaviour
