SUNDAY EVENING SERVICE 19th APRIL, 1998

18 All authority... Jesus, crucified and risen, is Lord

19 go and make disciples not donations nor decisions, something more long term and far reaching

of all nations not 'ourselves alone'

baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Baptism means we belong to God in all his rich relational being. It points to all that God has for us and is completed in faith.

A life of fellowship, of consecration, of divine fulness and strength'

total binding identification with total deliverance of triune God

'a sign that God has made the first move to offer us a new start and that we have accepted his offer and will live as Jesus' disciples'

20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you the baptised person is called to a life of service we are not to be 'a la carte', pick & mix disciples.

Surely I am with you always 'The promise of his presence... reminds us that spreading the good news is not something we do for Jesus but something he does through us.'
