Home/School Liaison
- Parents are welcome to visit the school at any time. Where possible
arrangements should be made in advance in order that the teacher
is free to meet them.
- Parent/teacher meeting are organised annually. Each parent is
invited to attend the school for an individual consultation with
his/her child's class teacher.
- Meetings are arranged by the school psychologist following admission,
assessment and review.
- A general meeting for parents is held each term. The agenda
includes information on school policies. At these meetings , which
are held at night, speakers with expertise in various areas of
disability and education address parents and staff.
- Contact with home is maintained through the social work department
of the Galway County Association for Mentally Handicapped Children.
A representative of this department visits the school weekly.
- The school has an active parents association. All parents are
encouraged to get involved in its activities.
