Special Olympic Events:

The World Games came to Ireland in June 2003.

We were honoured that two of our pupils and a past pupil were selected for the Irish Team.

Robert Gill, Roy Murphy and Ruairi O'Toole.

 

The three boys performed wonderfully. Robert got a gold, silver and bronze medal in the gymnastic events.Roy got a silver also in gymnastics and Ruairi got a silver for kayaking.

Congratulations to them and congratulations also to Adrienne O'Byrne our P.E teacher who coached our two pupils in the years leading up to the games.

 

The special Olympics was a marvelous event which touched the hearts of everyone in the country.

 

 

Galway Bay F.M Sports Stars

The Galway Special Olympic team was awarded the Team of the Year prize for 2003 at the Sports Stars awards on November 22nd.

The team members were presented with a beautiful Galway crystal bowl.
