The
Drumcondra area has a big selection of after school activities. One of the most
popular activities is soccer. There are quite a lot of football clubs to choose
from. There’s Drumcondra F.C., there’s Homefarm F.C., Shelbourne F.C. and in
Whitehall there’s St. Kevin’s. There are some G.A.A. (Gaelic) team’s also.
The most popular one’s are Whitehall and Na Fianna. Na Fianna won the
Championships last year. They also have hurling teams as well. Drumcondra F.C.
also won the U 12’s Brenfer C league. Home Farm F.C. U 12 A team, U 11, U 10
and U 9 won leagues also.
Other
activities are rollerblading and skateboarding. There is a skate park just
beside “ Breaks Snooker Club”.
Upstairs
is for the really good ones and downstairs is sort of for the beginners. To get
into "Breaks" you have to be over a certain age.
In the Omni centre in Santry there is an arcade and cinema, McDonalds and Burger King.
Boxing and judo are other activities. One of the people that live around the area is one of the best judo fighters in the country.
