The u-14 Ground Hurling League has commenced for 2001 with the young Swan team getting off to a winning start.  They defeated Arravale Rovers 4-2 and then proceeded to beat St. Mary's by 9-0.  Watch out for details of up-coming matches.

The first year of the New Millennium has been one which our club can look back on with happy memories.  Having been starved of success in Senior hurling championship since 1990, this was the year we proved many experts wrong with a tremendous success in the South Championship thus securing this title for the 21st time.  The scenes that greeted and followed our win over Ballingarry were reminiscent of past glories and will, we are sure, remain fixed in the minds of the many young supporters present on that day.  Our senior hurling panel of players and mentors deserve great praise for their dedicated effort throughout the year and we thank them all.  We also hope that this success will be the foundation stone upon which our club can build for the future.

On the juvenile scene, our tremendous run of successes over recent years continued with our u-14(A) hurlers to the forefront throughout the year.  This team followed on where they left off last year by winning the ground hurling league early in the year.  They were then successful in retaining their south Feile title and went on to qualify for the county final where they lost out narrowly to old adversaries JK Brackens, Templemore.  In the u-14 South Championship, we had a relatively trouble free passage to the final where Moyle Rovers provided us with a stern challenge before our team took over in the final quarter to retain this championship.  Again we congratulate this fine young team and their mentors.
