Since co-writing his first feature 'When The Sky Falls' an Irish Screen Production starring Joan Allen, Pete Postlethwaite, Patrick Bergen, Liam Cunningham, Gallagher made 'Underworld' an Iron Mountain Production (starring Don Baker, Michael McElhatton, Tomas O Suileabhain and Susan Church), which he wrote, directed, co-produced and financed.
Underworld
received a rare, national theatrical release in Ireland through Buena Vista and
took second prize in the audience voted Best First Short Film category at the
1999 Galway Film Festival. The film was also screened at The Laemmle Theatre,
Hollywood as part of the Kodak sponsored 'Oscar Run'.
He then went on to direct 'She's The One' (starring Wolf Roth) for Warner Bros Television, which has been broadcast in France, Russia, Israel and is due for a US network broadcast in 2002 as part of their new 'Dark Realm' series hosted by US actor Eric Roberts.

He is currently working on 'Sauerkrauts and Schnitzels' a documentary on
traditional Irish band 'Kila' which is
presently in editing.
Guest of the Nation was cast, crewed, filmed, edited and completed over the five days of The Galway Film Festival in July 2002 through an award from The Galway Film Centre, and was screened on the closing night of the festival.
