     CARI’s 20th Anniversary Trek to Peru to help children in Ireland who have experienced sexual abuse.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising site. The CARI (Children at Risk in Ireland) charity is a very worthy cause and I would very much appreciate your support in helping me to raise funds for this charity. I will be raising funds by treking the Inca Trail to the lost city of Machu Picchu (Peru) in October. A challenging trek at altitudes of 3000-4200 feet lasting 10 days in total.

CARI is unique in its specialisation in child sexual abuse, offering the following services:

• Providing a supportive environment to enable children and their families to disclose sexual abuse where it has occurred
  
• Help in coping with the reporting of disclosed abuse and the consequent investigation and child protection processes
  
• Post assessment tailored and adaptive therapy for children affected by abuse
  
• Support and counselling for non abusing family members who will play a primary role in the recovery of the child
  
• Outreach, community based therapy
  
• Specialist advice and education for children, young people adults and professionals who may come into contact with child abuse at some time in their work or lives
  
• Information and advice for concerned members of the public whose vigilance and awareness are the catalyst to action in child protection, and upon whose support CARI relies. Child protection is everybody's business.
