Season 2003

08/02 Transfer news
The Blues are currently looking to add quality players to their squad for the coming season back in the Premier league. Rumours are appearing every day Wes Charles was mentioned but this is a definite no no, Alan Reynolds is joining Rovers and not returning to the Blues, Willie burton could be on his way to the RSC along with O'Flynn from Lmerick. On the other side Wayne Russel who was voted 1st division player of the Year by his fellow palyers in the eircom league is being looked at by St. Pats.

Season 2002-2003

11/11 Alex Dixon has also returned to America leaving the Blues top of the League with only 11 games to go. Dixon's visa is the reason given for his return, his time had run out so he headed home. Wayne Russell got himself a bit of publicity in the National media last weekend when he talked in the Sunday People about his contract with the Blues and his wish for a longer contract as he is now 34 and in his last few years. Interesting to see how the club will react to this article.

31/10 Seth Lilburn has returned to the USA, Seth Joined the Blues two matches into our league campaign and has been a bit player for us ever since. Seth major contribution to the team was his long throw. The club has stated finanical reasons for his departure. Seth was offered a contact and was delighted to sign it when he arrived in the Green Isle, but now with his family at home he needs more money to send home and the club are not in a position to increase his wages.

10/10 another new signing will be paraded before the Blues match in the RSC against Kildare County on Thursday night. The player named Mario is a centre midfield player who has a good range of passing and likes to get forward into the opponents box.

09/10 Under 21's handed the worst possible draw in the terms of travel as they face Longford Town in the Semi Final of the League Cup. Being the holders the Blues will go into the game full of confidence and bookies favourites to gain a final spot.

05/10 Jimmy McGeough has been handed a two match ban and fined €100 for his part in the Kilkenny affair. Jimmy will have to set in the stand for the away game in Monaghan and the Home game v's Finn Harps. This in my view will do Jimmy no harm at all as he will see the game in a different view and this may help him in future team selections.

27/09 The Blues camp is on a crest of a wave at the moment, top of both National League adn Under 21 leaague. Vinny o'Sullivan has scored in every league game so far and teh defence has finally learned how to concentrate for 90 minutes. the story this week, though, will be about the meeting in Dublin on Wednesday night when the Kilkenny match will be discussed in detail.

28/05 The National League has decided to delay the start of the new summer season for 1st Division clubs until August 22nd. A one off 1st Division cup will now take place for 5 weeks starting July 6th. This cup will see the 12 clubs split into two groups and play 5 matches. This was requested by the clubs as the Premier Division would not end until February and this would be 6 weeks after the last set of fixtures would be played in the 1st. The team finishing in second spot would then have a long break before playing the promotion relegation play off.
