Kilcoole - Cill Chomhghaill
Kilcoole awaits the only daily train from Dublin. (Photo: Huib Zegers - March 2002) Kilcoole is situated between Greystones and Wicklow on the South Eastern Suburban. The halt consists of one platform without any facilities; it even lacks a name plate. Kilcoole is equipped with an electronic display, which unfortunately doesn't function. Notwithstanding the fact that the name of Kilcoole features on nearly every daily, weekly, monthly and yearly rover ticket for the greater Dublin area (short hop zone) it is the halt with the least train traffic in the whole of Ireland. Just the suburban train from Arklow through Dublin to Dundalk is calling in Kilcoole from Monday to Saturday at 7:40 hours. As is the train from Dublin Connolly to Arklow on Mondays to Fridays at 18:18 hours. On Sundays and public holidays Kilcoole is not reachable at all by train.
