DISCO TROUSERS

DISCO TROUSERS

If you ever think that guardian angels fly up in the sky

Well think again ‘cause angels fly just above your thigh

Guardian angels come in forms of nanas and little girls

Listen for their guidance comes in simple and fancy whirls

Little ladies shouldn’t dress up in pink tights after dark

Put her disco trousers on

Little ladies should look pretty, oh even in the park

Get her disco trousers on

The sun goes up and shines so proud

The sun goes down or hides behind a cloud

But the sun always shines somewhere

Sometimes little ladies stay little ladies for all time

With their disco trousers on

Let this special little lady have the arms of another child

With their disco trousers on

The sun goes up…

If you wish to have a dance take a two step with my girl

With her disco trousers on

Twirl her at the right time, don’t miss a beat, she’ll know

With her disco trousers on

The sun goes up…

THE LITTLE BOY THAT SANTA FORGOT

Girls they are playing new dresses so sprightly

Boys in the courtyard, new toys there a plenty

In a far off land, near the town of Merlot

There once was a little boy that Santa forgot

Two days have gone now since Christmas morning

Still every hour his eyes wide awakin’

Rise up to his mother, why father, he’s gone

Cake’s in the oven, “why Santa don’t come”

Bare at the bedside, his mother she said

“Last year’s toys are not yet dead”

“Go up to your room son, a little surprise”

“Jesus has come, so dry up those eyes”

‘Twas only just mornin’, ‘guess Santa was late

With gifts for the little ones in some far off state

The prise of the boy, a football there waitin’

The envy of others, their plastic toys breakin’

Girls they are playing new dresses so sprightly

Boys in the courtyard, new toys there a plenty

In a far off land, near the town of Merlot

There once was a little boy that Santa forgot

SOMETHING OVERWHELMING

I’ve got marks on my bosom to show you

Stains you have made with your mouth

Jewels I wear with pride

I stand alone and pout

Many have come to woo me

With a line that isn’t true

I’ll dance alone with any

My love I give to few

Something overwhelming

Something in the foray

Something overwhelming

Has blown me away

You move your body close to me

Feel me swallow you deep

Shift in concentric circles

Never shall I sleep

To those who pray in silence

Monks ands druids, take heed

The gods of the earth within me cry

As I succumb to the raging deed

Something overwhelming…

To love is such a miracle

To those who find it true

The beauty of communion

In ever flowing dew

My song of sensuality

Carnal moral certainty

You are not merely a fancy

But a wild and wondrous clarity

Something overwhelming…

Something overwhelming…

JUDGEMENT DAY

I walked up to the open gates of God I followed through

And knelt before the alter ”Jesus tell me what to do”

The queen am I dethroned by hell, the devil at my back

‘Tween silky sheets so many, black, white, I just lost track

So many nights in sleeplessness, the rattle of my wrong

Expecting chains and sorry gains, to the dungeons I belong

Time it seems has buried deep, my heart it’s oh so small

One more chance, an unlocked dance, to which I doth crawl

I’ll be here ‘till judgement day

‘Till death hath done it’s worst

For the man I love has taken up

Another to his breast

I’m broken down and savaged by the wrath of hopelessness

All because I gave my body, soul to the one you surely blessed

Jesus save me now before I go another day

And get eaten by the curse of jealousy, to you I pray

Yea, I’ve walked that grassy verge of God, This once I did look down

And saw the wicked face of him, no eyes, just a frown

Lord take me to the right road paved with cobblestones of good

This torture I despise so much to leave you as I did

I’ll be here ‘till judgement day…

As I left that empty church I bowed my head in shame

And looked in Jesus’ eyes and prayed for the Lord to come in again

Fill my soul with sweet perfume and raise my song once more

This ode in its simplicity to you I doth implore

I’ll be here ‘till judgement day

BEAUTIFUL LADY

Beautiful Lady, beautiful you,
You don’t look a day of your eighty-two.
Beautiful Lady, beautiful you,
Will you look after me when I get there too?
Tabhair dom do lámh

Beir greim ar mo lámh
‘S bi liomsa le ceangaill na láimh
(Give me your hand, take a hold of my hand and be with me with the tying of hands)

Beautiful Lady, beautiful you,
You had time for this tinkerbell out of the blue.
Beautiful Lady, beautiful you,
It's time to go home now, just travelling through.

Tabhair dom do lámh
Beir greim ar mo lámh
‘S bi liomsa le ceangaill na láimh

Go to sleep entwined in his arms
For he will protect you and all of your charms.
Take good care, someday we’ll meet you there
To share the paradise home in the sky.

Beautiful Lady, beautiful you,
It's time to go home now, just travelling through.

Tabhair dom do lámh
Beir greim ar mo lámh
‘S bi liomsa le ceangaill na láimh

FISH DON’T SIGH

In a seabed I can think of nothing finer
In a seabed I can think of nothing more
Than to swim there with the fish down in the ocean
Than to swim there with the fish far from the shore

And I can feel their fins on my thighs
See fish don’t sigh
And I can swim and play with a golden eye
See fish don’t sigh

In a blue sky I can think of nothing finer
In a blue sky I can think of nothing more
Than to fly there with the eagles soaring higher
Than to swim there with the birds up in the sky

And I can feel their wings on my thighs
See birds don’t sigh
And I can fly and play with a cockatoo
See birds don’t sigh

Mountains and all hills
And fruit trees and cedars
Beasts and all cattle
Creeping things and flying birds

It’s a love story in the ocean
It’s a love story on the ground
It’s a love story in the jungle
It’s a love story on the ground
On the ground…

INFECTIOUS

Infectious, deceptious, she’s a girl of annoying proportions
Delicious, seductious, with a whim and a laugh a tad monstrous
She’ll take you or she’ll leave you
And if you give her a chance, she’ll steal you
So feel free, she has no mercy
With a rhythmical dance, she’s candy

And on the out, without a doubt, there’s a human child
On the in, ‘neath her under thing
Lies a beautiful woman inside
She’s tasted love from the tip of her tongue
She’s tasted far too many,
She’s tasted love from the very young
Her kissing is uncanny

Infectious, disastrous,
When she does a pirouette, she’s gorgeous
A mind bomb, a bird song
With a gift of charm and aplomb

And if you think one day that she’ll come and stay
With a kiss to feed your yearning
Guaranteed, she’ll be gone with speed
Never too late for the learning
She’s tasted love…

Infectious, a darling, infectious, a child
Infectious, a mind blowing
Beautiful woman inside
She’s tasted love…

FEELIN’ UNDER

Why are you caring what I’m doin’ today
Why is it always you and the same
I can see, what it is in my that make me cry
Tap it in, oh tap it in and make me die
I want to be with my mama
‘Cause my mama knows where my mind is
That’s how it goes, feelin’ under
Comes and it goes, feelin’ under
Everyone knows, feelin’ under today.

Monday brings me down all day
While Tuesday, Wednesday takes me away
Comin’ down the mornin’ afternoon,
Already feel in the way
That’s how it goes, feelin’ under
Comes and it goes, feelin’ under
Everyone knows, feelin’ under today

Leanin’ over all we’re under
Wonder why on earth it’s this way
Facin’ out and facin’ in
To finish where the endin’ began
That’s how it goes, feelin’ under
Comes and it goes, feelin’ under
Everyone knows, feelin’ under today

Why are you carin’…
That’s how it goes, feelin’ under
Comes and it goes, feelin’ under
Everyone knows, feelin’ under today

WOULD IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

We two lonely people
We two lonely people
Sittin’ around at the table top
We two lonely people
We two lonely people
Sittin’ around but it won’t stop
She if I call you
See if you hear
Oh come now
Even lonely people must move on

We two hungry vagrants
We two hungry vagrants
Stallin’ around at the grocery shop
We two hungry vagrants
We two hungry vagrants
Swillin’ around but it won’t stop
Why I can’t find you
Why you’re not here
Oh come now
Even hungry vagrants must move on.
Do you think if I tried not to hide
Do you think if I tried not to take you over
Would it make a difference
Would it make a difference
Would it make a difference

We two petty lovers
We two petty lovers
Walkin’ a line on a tight rope
We two petty lovers
We two petty lovers
Walkin’ away and I can’ cope.
Why do I hurt you
Why do you care
Oh come now
Even petty lovers must make up.
Do you think if I tried not to hide
Do you think if I tried not to take you over
Would it make a difference
Would it make a difference
Would it make a difference

DISRUPTIN’ THE FLOW

Here in a square in a little house
There’s a girl next door who talks real nice,
A little shy but all to bold
Plays with her toys and acts real cold
She’s a little lazy and plays real dumb
Sharp as a knife cut through the bone
The village pride and likes to tease
That’s why she’s got the boys all on their knees
One day in June walkin’ in the sun
I could see the flowers, everyone
Lyin’ in the park, the star o’ the show
There was little Miss Muffit
Disruptin’ the flow, disruptin’ the flow, disruptin’ the flow

Cute as lady innocent
Passing off another complement
Such beautiful things as the girl next door
Somehow it’s easy to adore
Dressed in white smalls and looking pretty
Ice cream stains upon her pinny
Sweet as sugar coated candy
Quiet as a mouse, but dandy
One day in spring walkin’ in the city
There were cars a screamin’ in fits of fury
Strollin’ down the avenue, the star o’ the show
There was little Miss Muffit
Disruptin’ the flow, d.isruptin’ the flow, disruptin’ the flow

Here in a square in a little house
There’s a girl next door who talks real nice,
A little shy but all to bold
Plays with her clothes and acts real cold.
One day in May, many years from now
I can see this gem where e’er she dwell
Dancin’ and a hootin’, the star o’ the show
There’ll be little Miss Muffit
Disruptin’ the flow, d.isruptin’ the flow, disruptin’ the flow

ON MY OWN

Angelic in your stride, tease the ladies as you go
Battle weary hearts, a mystery you alone must know
You’ve such a pretty face,
Such an angry temper,
Such a kindly grace,
Through all of ths I’ll always remember you.

But don’t be afraid
‘Cause I’m strong and I can make it on my own
Yea, I’m strong and I can make it on my own

Your spendthrift love, your throwing kisses, lasy as you do
Was I a fool for loving with pain sure to ensue?
Do you still have your diamond touch?
Do you miss my funny manner?
We shall miss you, oh so much,
Though you’re gone I’ll always remember you.

But don’t be afraid
‘Cause I’m strong and I can make it on my own
Yea, I’m strong and I can make it on my own

I’ve been through this before
You know I feel it just a little bit more
I’ve been through this before
You know I’ll never close the door
Why don’t you come back home

Yea, I’m strong and I can make it on my own

DORIS'S STORY-Éanín & Madra

DORIS: Here is a story of a bird and a dog
In a world only children understand
In fields of wheat and barley corns
The fable and the story to be told

One day in June in a cranky tune
Éanín & Madra
The farmer lost his pantaloon
Éanín & Madra
Temper tantrum, lost his hair
Kicked the dog and broke the chair
And lashed the bird into the air
Éanín & Madra

Said the bird to the dog “let’s steal away”
Éanín & Madra
So they left the mess on the very same day
Éanín & Madra
Preened their feathers and brushed their tails
Brought a bone and a couple of snails
In case they got peckish along the way
Éanín & Madra

DORIS: But the bird and the dog found it hard to get along
So they started to argue
The dog couldn’t play birdy games
And the bird didn’t know how to dance
The dog couldn’t sit on the branches of the tree
‘Twas time to find some counselling

GOAT: “I am the High King Counsellor
The goat that gives advice
Now listen here and listen well
Young lads let me tell you this
A fish can’t marry a hog
A bird can’t marry a dog”

So they packed their bags and they split their fags
Éanín & Madra
Then they gave their tails a wag
Éanín & Madra
They were prepared for leavin’, so
They had to choose which way to go
And where they went I do not know
Éanín & Madra

DORIS: And so the story ends with a moral or a question
Is there any point to it all?
For the bird and the dog lived and loved their separate lives
They even had fun now and then
Because they had fire in their little hearts
They could still share a smoke

Because there’s no smoke without fire

Éanín & Madra

LIST OF PRIORITIES

On a list of priorities I love you
On a list of priorities I’m with you
I can’t compete with the girls on the street
On a list of priorities I’m here

On a list of priorities I wonder
On a list of priorities where am I
I can’t compete with the world at your feet
On a list of priorities I’m lost

Where are we going…

HAPPY TO BE (Úna O Boyle, Sean O'Neill, Aidan Coleman))

If I could be anyone I wanted
If I could be anyone at all
If I could be anyone I wanted to be
I think I'd still choose to be me
Happy to be, happy to be
Happy to be no-one but me
