Rock
Of Cashel
The palace of Boru (Brian Boru was king of Ireland in the 11th century) is now the national heritage centre at the foot of the Rock of Cashel. It has a well-equipped theatre with frequent performances of the very best of Irish music, song and dance. The centre also houses a fully computerised genealogical service.
The Cashel Folk Village, opened in 1984 contains many interesting informal reconstructions. The Widow Breen's Kitchen; The Wild Rover Pub; Joe Noonan's Butcher Stall and Delaney's forge.
The Bolton Library contains a unique collection of antiquarian books and is the finest collection outside of Dublin.
