All You Need to Know!
Welcome to the 2006 Wexford Book Festival. We sincerely hope your enjoy your visit to the events, we have made every effort to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Supervision
The student supervisor ratio must be 10:1 (Teacher to student) - due to insurance reasons this must be strictly enforced to ensure the safety of all attendees.
All attendees must be seated half an hour before each event.
To minimise disruption no latecomers will be admitted, this will be strictly enforced.
To facilitate a participative event, please fully acquaint your students with the relevant authors.
To ensure that everyone fully enjoys the event without distraction it is vital that you brief your students i.e. all mobile phones must be switched off, no talking will be allowed. Front of House personnel will escort disruptive individuals from the theatre.

Getting to Wexford
Travelling Distances
Carlow – 40 miles (allow at least one hour)
Waterford – 42 miles (allow at least one hour)
Kilkenny – 52 miles (allow at least 1.5 hours)
Dublin – 80 miles (allow at least 2.5 hours)

Also check http://www.aaroadwatch.ie for the latest travelling information. Please take the weather into account as this may cause some delays if driving conditions are poor.

Getting to the event
A detailed set of directions is attached. All buses must drop off students at the designated point (Paul Quay - opposite Tescos) which will be marshalled by Literary wardens wearing bright yellow T-shirts.
Buses will then proceed to another area to park which is safe and relatively close to the town. When you are ready to be collected you can simply telephone the bus driver to return to collect the students at the same collection point.
On your arrival at the drop of point for busses in Wexford you will be met by our ‘Literary Wardens’ who will accompany you to your event venue. These Transition Year students from the Presentation and St. Peters College will be on hand to guide you to the event and guide you to the event and answer any questions you might have.
The students must walk two by two from the bus to the Event Location. Community Wardens will be in place to escort them across a busy road via a pedestrian crossing. There is a short walk along a street and the remainder of the route is fully pedestrianised.

Disabled access
If you have a student that requires special assistance please inform the Festival Office before Thursday, so that this can be arranged in advance.

Toilets
There is an adequate supply of toilets at the Arts Centre and Wexford library.
Please allow 30 minutes for this stop.

Refreshments
No refreshments are allowed in any event venues. If the students would like to eat or drink they must do so on the bus before disembarking.

If you are scheduling a walk around Wexford town before or after the event Literary Wardens will have a visible presence on the streets to assist you and to direct you to event venues.
