Cross at top of memorial. Inscription reads: To the Glory of God and in proud and loving memory of GEORGE ROSS McGUSTY, Lieutenant 8th Battn. Royal Irish Rifles. Only child of George & Louisa McGusty, of this City. Born the 12th July 1893. He died the 14th June 1916. At Abbeville in France. From wounds received in action on the Somme battlefield. "Faithful Unto Death". |
