Great Southern & Western Railway, Heuston Station


Platform One, Heuston railway station. Previously known as Kingsbridge station. The Great Southern & Western Railway is now part of Coras Iompar Eireann.

Close by are a memorial to Séan Heuston, a Republican hero of 1916, for who the station was renamed, and a memorial to the 1916 Proclamation of the Republic

The memorial has the company crest of the Great Southern & Western Railway. Above the list of names is the inscription:

"In memory of the following members of the staff of the Great Southern & Western Railway who laid down their lives for their country in the Great War 1914-1918."
