Royal Hibernian Military School, Phoenix Park

Location

In the front grounds of the Royal Hibernian Military School, Phoenix Park. The school was founded in 1769 and is now part of St. Mary's Hospital.

"To the glory of God and in loving memory of the old boys of the Royal Hibernian Military School who laid down their lives for King and Country in the Great War 1914-1918."

The emblem and motto of the school is on the centre of the cross.

The names of eighty-two casualties are arranged alphabetically by rank on the four sides of the base of the memorial

82 casualties are arranged alphabetically by rank. Some of these are listed here. Very few had definite Dublin links outside of their prior education there, though there was a significant number who enlisted in Dublin.
