History

    The Fairey Battle was built for the RAF by Austin Motors at Longbridge, Birmingham,Great Britain, under sub-contract to Fairey, 8-41, served with Nš 4 Bombing and Gunnery School at West Frough as "8" until its forced landing at Tramore, Co. Waterford. It was taken over by the Irish Army Air Corps. It was painted in camouflage colours of earth and dark green on the upper surfaces and the undersides were black.
