Kilmore Quay, The Seafood Festival

The Seafood Festival is held during the summer and provides family entertainment for all ages. Seafood is served everyday during the festival in the Stella Maris Community Centre.

There is also live music in the local pubs, The Wooden House and Kehos Pub. Other activities range from a family fun day on the beach to raft racing.


This year's(2006) festival starts the 6th of July to the 9th of July:

Thursday, 6th July:

7.30pm Parade from Hotel Saltees. Marching Band, Floats, and Street Threatre.

8.00pm Official Opening by Tony Tormey. Music at the Marina.

8.30pm Seafood Platter Competition in the Stella Maris Centre.

9.00pm Photo Exhibition, "Nature in Wexford" a photographic exhibition by the Wexford Camera Club in Stella Maris Centre.

9.00pm Traditional Hospitality in Stella Maris Centre. Sets, Cèili & Old Time.

Pool Competition in local pubs.

Friday, 7th July:

2.30pm Family Fun Day. Fun and games on the little Beach with Red Moon Threatre. Pony rides, Canoes, and Bouncing Castle.

7.00pm Children's art competition.

7.00pm - 9.00pm Kiddies Disco in Stella Maris Centre.

8.00pm - 11.00pm Youth Disco in Hotel Saltees. 13-18 years.

Pool Competition in local pubs.

Saturday, 8th July:

1.30pm Festival Seafood BBQ at Stella Maris Centre. Succulent local seafood and fresh salad.

3.00pm Whale Rescue on Little Beach.

7.00pm Pool Competition Final in Saltees Hotel.

10.00pm 21st Festival Party Dance in Wooden House Lodge.

Sunday, 9th July:

12.00pm Seafood Cocktails and Rolls on sale at Marina.

2.00pm Harbour Fair Open air stalls, racing ducks, pony rides, live music.

3.00pm Open air Cèile MÓr at the Marina.

2.00pm Raft Inspection on little beach.

3.30pm Cathy Bates Memorial raft race. Rafts and crews compete for prizes. Music, dancing, BBQ, and fancy dress also on.

6.00pm Festival Raffle at Marina.

7.00pm "Guess The Score" of the World Cup final at local pubs.

8.30pm Festival Bonanza Bingo. Lots of prizes.

Seafood served everyday and live music in the local pubs.
