Rathbarry Figure of Eight

A series of walks and cycling routes so varied as to meet all tastes. I gceartlar duthaigh Chairbre, an area rich in flora and fauna, as well as a variety of historical sites.

This is only a rough guide and for the more curios adventurer it is recommended you read books like "The Coast of West Cork", by Peter Somerville-Large or "West Cork Walks", by Kevin Corcoran.

Is iomai sli ata ann, only two routes are highlighted here and it's left to the individual to 'mix and match'. The first section of the route, the 'the top of the eight' which takes you around picturesque Rathbarry is suitable for children but not the second section. There are more suitable walks for the young around Castlefreke Woods or in the Long Strand, an Tra Fhada.
