The Desktop

The desktop is the first screen you see when windows starts, and your home screen.
It holds important icons, shortcuts and the taskbar.

The Start menu opens up menus

The Quick Launch is where you can drag shortcuts to
your most used programs for easy access.

On this part of the taskbar you can switch between
Programs/Folders that you have already open.
