SHOW - Piparella and the Lost Colours
SHOW DESCRIPTION
Piparella and the Lost Colours : A show by Pipa the clown about your and my world in green.
After the Play Along Show Pipa transforms into Piparella the elf. She is now sent out by Melinda the fairy princess to get help, because the forest, within the last weeks became darker and darker every day. The colours have left and life isn’t the same anymore. So Piparella goes to Floramina, the witch, who always has an idea. But this time even her is only able to send her on. All she can give her is an awful heavy suitcase, which Piparella has to bring to some humans, who are willing to help her.
And here the play begins. After telling her story, she finally can open the suitcase with the help of the children and there they find everything they need to fulfil their tasks to save the colours.
The show introduces Dance, Music and colourful props to make the kids live through the story and think about pollution and their input into their environment. It also gives them plenty of opportunities to take part and be active.
The Music for the play was written and recorded by Aranos.
The play lasts app. 60 min. After that every child gets a little bit of colour home with them (Facepainting: little hearts on the cheeks).
In combination with the show I can offer a workshop about making music instruments from things that would have been thrown away or/and mime and performance.
So, if all that sounds all right to you or if you want to contact me anyway, please do so.
PARTNERSHIP - Local Environment Partnership 2001 with Piparella
This is to confirm that Galway City Council undertook a very successful environmental partnership venture with Ms. Karen Wimmer in 2001. The object of the partnership was to deliver her environmental awareness and education theatrical production with its messages on litter and waste management to approximately 1,000 primary school students.
Karin made full use of her imaginative approach and talent to deliver a series of shows to the school children, which they obviously enjoyed, and which had a definite impact on them. Feedback from the schoolteachers was unanimously positive.
Karin also used her experience to recommend we try to stage the production in the Black Box theatre. This avoided wasting time on setting up at a number of different less suitable. We were able to run four shows in two days, attended by a total of up to 250 students per show.
An aspect of the show that was particularly successful was the way in which Karin involving the students as "actors".
I was co-ordinator of the partnership for Galway City Council and I have no hesitation in strongly recommending the "Piparella" show to any other Local Authority.
Yours Sincerely,
Richard Maguire

All together we entertained 15 497 children all over Ireland. Most of them we decorated with the little green hearts and sent them out as assistant elves to spread the story of Piparella the elf, the big dark grey and the lost colours. They were asked to remind everybody of the most important thing to keep those colours alive, which can only be done through Recycling.
We had very positive comments from principals, teachers and students. Many pictures were taken, many paintings were done, everybody was clapping, everybody had fun.
In Autumn we got support from the following Arts Councils, who fully or partially covered our accommodation:
Cavan
Waterford
We additional shows supported by the Arts Council in
Donegal
North Tipperary
Louth ( in connection with the environment)
We are grateful for this support.
For the spring tour we got additional support from Repak, who printed our posters, which we passed on to all schools and who promised to fund accommodation and expenses.
We forward with this report a picture file, which shows some of the children, who enjoyed the show.
Because of the good reception for our show, we decided to offer our show again for the local authority environmental partnership funding 2003. We will forward the applications again to all counties in Ireland.
We hope you were happy with our work and consider us for another tour next year.
All the best
Pipa and Petr
