Fishing For Pollack and Wrasse

Pollack and Wrasse are a very popular target species for many reasons; they can be found in abundance all around Ireland, they taste good, they are hard fighting fish and they are relatively easy to catch!

Pollock
Pollock are one of the most prolific species in the area we visit. I usually fish for them on the float, around 6 to 10 feet below.
Wrasse
Wrasse must surely be one of the guaranteed species to catch. They love the rough stuff and fight like demons Put a peeler or worm bait straight in the rocks and wait for the fun to start. .Any Wrasse over 4lb is a  good specimens. In addition to the Ballan, there is also the Cuckoo Wrasse and the much smaller Corkwing Wrasse.
