Doonbeg is centrally located in pastoral County
Clare: Shannon Airport is just 45 minutes away, and the rugged
beauty of the Cliffs of Moher are within an hour's drive. The Killimer
Ferry is just 15 minutes away, waiting to take you across the Shannon
River to Kerry and points south. The area is rich with natural wonders but
it is the wonderful people you will meet who make Doonbeg a warm and
inviting real Irish experience. The town offers several
restaurants and gloriously Irish local pubs and when the music begins
you'll begin to wonder what took you so long to get here.
For a unique experience you can visit the Aran Islands
which are just to the north. The wild
Atlantic is just to the west, and the beautiful Irish countryside is all
around.

The
Burren
The name Burren comes from the Irish 'boireann' which
means 'rocky place'. The Burren is in northwest County Clare,
bounded on the west by the Atlantic and to the north by the waters of
Galway Bay. It is an area of immense ecological, botanical and
archaeological importance, both to Ireland and the whole world.
