Allen & Bob began rallying in 1994 when they began competing in the Munster Night Navagation Championship in a Toyota Corolla SR and later switched to a Corolla GT.Allen won the novice drivers class in this championship 3 seasons in a row,while Bob claimed 2 seconds and a first.
Over the three seasons they competed in 15 Navagation Trials,won 10 class awards,came 2nd. overall on their fourth event and won the 1997 1000 shakes
Outright.They both gained invaluable experience and would recommend it as an ideal entry into rallying.
Their first stage rally was the 1995 West Cork Rally,in a standard silver Corolla GT (see pics.) where they finished 36th. Overall,2nd. in class and best newcomers.Since then they have competed in over 25 rallies,winning their class in the 1996 Top Part West Coast Championship,and the 1998 Yokohama Southern Four Championship,While Bob was Cork Motor Club Champion Navigator in 1996.
