The Woollen Mills

Like the village of Foxford, Ballinacree once had its own thriving woollen mills.  This provided a market for the local wool producers and gave a lot of local employment.  It was powered by water from the river Inny.

When did it start?  Nobody is sure but when it finally closed down in the 1920's some said it had been in existence for nearly 300 years.
