Tom Casey

Tom Casey is a national hot rod racing driver. He is one of the best in the WORLD.
Tom came second to Colin White in the World Final in 1998. Tom drives a Ford Focus. A new racing car like this would cost about £25,000. There is only one racing track in Ireland. It is in Cashel, Co. Tipperary. It is a quarter of a mile oval track.
Drivers can reach speeds of 100 miles per hour there.

Q: What do you feel is your best position on the field?
A: Full Back.

Q:Who was your toughest opponent to mark?
A: Seanie O' Leary from Cork.

Q: What was the toughest match you played in?
A: The Railway Cup Final in 1976. It was level on several occassions but we won by one point in the end.

Q: What do you think of today's style of hurling?
A: The game of hurling is today played at a much faster pace and is more skilful than ever before.

Q: Are you still interested in hurling?
A: I love hurling and would go anywhere to see a good match.

Q: Do you plan on being a Ballyduff hurling manager?
A: When Ballyduff School's team is playing senior hurling, I hope to be manager.

Q: Who is your favourite player outside of Waterford?
A: Brian Whelan.

Q: Who do you think is the best hurler in Ireland?
A: D.J. Carey

Q: Does great hurling run in the family?
A: It does not always follow but I think all my nephews are excellent hurlers.
