Over the years the Comp. has had very successful soccer teams and very many talented players. A number of our past and present pupils are presently making names for themselves at the higher level

  • Peter Rogers with Tranmere Rovers

  • Graham Conway with Bohemians

  • Clive Ross played for Ireland U16 against Israel recently and has a number of English clubs interested in him

  • Alan Kinsella played for Ireland U-14 in a recent testimonial and was featured in a ''Prime Time'' television programme on RTE television.   He has had trials with a number of English clubs and spends many weekends with these clubs

  • Congratulations and best wishes to David  Jenkins, 2.G, who has been selected to train with the Irish U-14 Soccer Squad.   David will join Alan Kinsella in the squad.

Shelbourne Coaching Programme

In January a soccer coaching programme with Tony O'Neill of Shelbourne F.C. started in the Comprehensive School.  Each of the school teams  (U 13; U 15; U17) boys and girls will receive eight coaching sessions.  It is expected that this type of professional coaching will build on the skills of the pupils and make our teams even more successful.

U-15 Team News
What began as a promising season for the U15's ended disappointingly as we were beaten in the third of the Cup and last 16 of the league.
Injuries and suspensions didn't help yet the players showed great skill and commitment throughout.  Alan Kinsella will pick up the Player of The Season Award with Clive Ross a close second.  Gareth Hoey also had a good season and is developing well into a mature centre-half.

Congratulations and best wishes to David Jenkins, 2.S, who has been selected to train with the Ireland U-14 Soccer Squad.
