On the 25th, 26th and 27th June, 6th class students who will be coming to Beech Hill College in September will attend a three day induction course aimed at making the transition from primary to post-primary a little less daunting. This course will include two days of orientation and subject workshops in the college and a trip to Tanagh Outdoor Centre on the last day.

Students will be collected by bus from venues around the catchment area and transported home in the evening. Meals will be provided for the students in school for the duration of the course.

A guided tour of the college and its many facilities will be the first activity. Students will then participate in various workshops:

  • Computer/Technology Workshop.
  • Science/Home Economics Workshop.
  • Practical Subjects Workshop.
  • Language Workshop.

They will be given all the necessary information on:

  • The School Book Scheme.
  • The Code of Behaviour.
  • Uniform.
  • Subject Choice.
  • Extra Curricular Activities.
  • Pastoral care etc.

in an orientation workshop. The day will begin @ 10 a.m. and conclude @ 2.30 p.m.
