International Poetry Workshop
Matthew Sweeney recently conducted a workshop on poetry in the school for Transition Year. He has to his name
several publications and is a member of Aosdana. He resides in London and the visit was his first to the school.
Senior Soccer
CCS lost to St. Eunan's Letterkenny in the Ulster Quarter Final. It was played in Caratra, Culdaff.
Girl's Gaelic
U14 girls lost to Glenties in the County Final. The match was played at Glenties.
Irish Exemption
Irish is a compulsory subject, but a small number of students are exempt from attending Irish classes if they
have satisfied certain criteria. CAO applicants are asked to note that if they have applied to NUI (Maynooth,
Galway, UCD and UCC) and are exempt from Irish, they must notify the CAO at once. Exemption notices are
available in the Careers Office or from Deputy Principal, Mr. Jim Quigley.
Young Americans Video
The video of the show is now available for €15. It covers the intertainment involving the visitors and CCS
students.
Mobile Phones
Picture phones are banned in the school. Students are requested not to bring them to school. Anybody who uses such phones in the
school will have them confiscated for a period of time. Text messaging is not permitted in class.
