Most
turloughs have a springy, short-cropped turf of grasses sedges and herbs.
At the high water mark, the shrubby cinquefoil can be found. Just below
this level are found dog violets and turlough violets.
Orchids and speedwells are also found and about halfway down the sides
and on the floor silverweed may be found in abundance.
