The first meeting of St. Colmcilles Brigin Company was held in the Community hall, Carraig Na bhFear on September 1982. The Company has gone from strength. It started with 5 young leaders and 35 girls between the ages of 7- 11 years. St. Colmcilles Company is a part of the diocese of Cork and Ross. The District Commissioner is May Dowling and the Diocesan Commissioner is Julie Donnelly. The present leaders are Roberta Noonan Brigin Leader, Miriam Spillane Assistant Brigin Leader, Theresa Barrett A.B.L, and Dyphmna Geaney A.B.L. Presently there are 28 brigins. St. Colmcilles Guide Company was started 10^th September. Their leaders are Elaine Gregor Guide Leader and Claire Scally Assistant Guide Leader. There are 11 guides all aged between 10-12 years. 

The company is a very active one and has always done well in competitions. In all the competitions they have taken part in such as Movement to music, First Aid, Brigin of the Year, Peace Poster Competition, Action Song etc. the company has always succeeded in coming in 1^st or 2^nd place. The company won first place in the Brigin of the Year 1997 when Laura Noonan won the Senior Brigin of the Year for the diocese of Cork and Ross. It was a great honour for the company. In the First Aid competition 2000  the company stole 1^st place in both categories junior and senior. From this you can see that the company have a great enthusiasm towards competitions.
