Welcome New Brigini to the Catholic Girl Guides.  

In most corners of the world there are Girl Guides.

They all wear different uniforms, eat different food and have different lifestyles, they all have one thing in common they are part of the guide family.

The guide family you have joined is St Colmcilles Brigin Company.  We are belong to the Catholic Girl Guides in the Diocese of Cork and Ross.  Each company is made up of Captains and Brigini.

We have four Captains.

Roberto Noonan, Miriam Spillane, Theresa Barrett and Dympna Geaney.  We have six patrols.

Each patrol is made up of a Patrol Leader, an Assistant Patrol leader and five or more brigini.

We in St Colmcilles Company hope that you will live and share the guide spirit and promise.  We all work and play together to make each other happy.  We plan our activities and work through a programme called the L- E-N -0 -A-H-A-N-D programme.  It is full of fun and activities to help us fulfil our promise.  Each week we will learn about a letter by stories, colouring songs and games.

You will be asked to pay 7EI0.00 for Insurance at the end of September. 

Each week you will need

1.    f,1.00 called the 'sub" this is to cover the cost of the hall, half to the Diocese and the remainder for company equipment. 

2.   A tin box similar to a biscuit tin covered in brown paper.

        In it you wil I need a rosary bead, a pencil rubber, topper, scissors, glue. 

3.    Two copy books covered in brown paper 

        one for Company log book,

        one for Lend-a-Hand work.  We will decorate them and the box.

 4.    You must be clean, neat and tidy long hair tied up.

        Hands and nails spotless, no nail polish.

5.    Wear a tracksuit and runners and buy your uniform after 3 or 4 meetings. 

        We would like all members to be polite, friendly and respectful to everyone in the company. 

We will have many outings and activities during the year if your child is not able to attend an outing please phone Roberta @non 4884364 in advance to cancel.

 

Note to Parents of new Brigini: 

Dear Parents of new brigini,

We are delighted your daughter has decided to join St Colmcilles Brigin Company.  The Brigin Company has four Captains.

Roberta Noonan, Miriam Spillane, Theresa Barrett, I)ympna Geaney.

The Brigin Company will meet every Wednesday night 7.00pm-8.30pm in the community hall.

Your daughter will need the covered tin box and the items listed on your daughters note every week.

She will need El.00 (sub) every week, if she misses a week she will have to bring the f,1.00 the following week so she will need -E2.00.

We suggest that you wait for 3-4 weeks before you buy her uniform, just to be sure and not waste your money. 

The uniform consists of

A neckerchief and woggle,

Her patrol Flower badge and diocesan badge.

A jade green sweatshirt, these items can be bought in the Scout Shop, Mc Curtain Street. (Opposite the Garda .Station.)

A white polo shirt and a plain navy tracksuit pants, (not combats) both of these can be bought in the scout shop or in any of the main department stores.

Please put her name on all the labels.  Runners or black shoes. 

We will have a lot of outings during the year.  You will be notified about these in advance by a note.  Unless we hear otherwise it is assumed that each child is going to turn up.  We have a big company of young children; we have to be able to account for each child. If your child cannot attend an outing we ask you to notify Roberta Noonan 4884364 before the outing.
