Examinations and Project Work
The NCVA Business Studies course is assessed in three ways:
- Central Examinations held in May of each year in school
- Project Work undertaken by each student thorughout the year
- School based examinations held at the end of each section of a module

Most modules contain all three types of assessment:
All modules are graded as follows:
- PASS 50% - 64%

- MERIT 65% - 79%

- DISTINCTION 80% - 100%

Project work teaches students many valuable skills:
- Research techniques e.g. finding information on Internet
or at the local library.
- Working to a deadline - all projects must be finished on
time to gain marks.
- Correct layout and presentation of project work e.g.
title, index, page numbering, headings etc.
- Decision making - deciding what topic to do a project on
and planning out a work schedule
