Sarsfields 3-9
Gort:    3-9
Sarsfields recorded their first points in the senior championship after this draw with Gort at St.Breandans Park Loughrea on Saturday 19th May 2007. It didnt look good for Sarsfields as with about 10 mins remaining they trailed by 9 points and Kerril Wade had 2 failed attempts from 21 yard frees. However 3 goals in a 5 min spell turned the game on its head. Wade with 2 and Noel Kelly the other. Gort lead by 1 point at the interval in what was a tense first half. Within minutes of the second half Gort were reduced to 14 after Tadhg Linnane was sent to the line after a high of the ball challenge on Kieran Kelly. Gort then shot to life and rattled off 2-3 in quick succession, and the Sarsfields full back line looked in trouble with Francis Madden pulling off a great double save. It didnt look good with time running out before Wade and Kelly kick started the revival. Gort had to score with the last puck off the game which they did. In the end a draw was probably a fair result.
