Men's 3rd XI

Institute added a 3rds Team to Munster Division 3 in Season 2004-05 for the first time in over a decade under the Captaincy of the legendary Rob Hernan, Rob while still the equal if not the better of most of the 1st Team took the task of guiding a 3rds Team consisting of a large number of under 16 players combined with a number of over 40ish players  through their 1st season of senior Hockey.

The Team in a remarkable achievement were in contention for the league title until the final 3 games of the season where they ultimately finished 3rd having achieved notable victories over the course of the year and seeing a number of the youth players achieve Interprovincial status with Munster in the shape of Simon Brickendon and Edmund Gleeson. The Team could feel aggrieved that they only achieved 2 with at least 4 more in contention

The coming season sees the Team which caters for all variety of players from youth to Vets continue to focus on the social side of the game while acting as a feeder team for the clubs Senior side, not forgetting claiming the Division 3 Title of course...
