Hi and welcome to our
engineering students website, based in Confey College, Leixlip, County
Kildare, Ireland. Here you will see the students at work designing and making their craft projects, also you can view our engineering workshop and equipment. My name is Philip Devereux, Students learn about metals, polymers (plastics), electronics and design. The ultimate goal being that each student develops the necessary skills to design and make electro-mechanical devices. Our workshop is well equipped with lathes, milling machines, CNC tooling and hand tools. Students undergo state examinations at the end of their 3rd and 5th year of secondary education. Engineering students are required to take separate design & manufacture, practical and theory examinations. The individual components are then combined to give an overall result.
