Ireland is a
magical place to visit and is noted for its wonderful scenery, it’s castles
and ancient monasteries and churches, its lovely cities and quaint towns
and villages and its warm friendly people and of course its forty shades
of green.
For a small country
it has a great variety of breath-taking scenery. The green forests of Wicklow
,the flat Curragh of Kildare, famous for it’s race-horses and its Curragh
race-course where the Irish Derby is run, the Shannon river ,flowing down
through the centre of the country,
and the rugged
Western sea-board stretching from Donegal down to Kerry and Cork.

Places
like the famous Ring of Kerry or the Dingle peninsula, beautiful Connemara
situated to the North-West of the mediaeval city of Galway known as the
city if the Tribes.
Connemara was
made famous in the John Wayne movie "The Quiet Man" .To the North-west
we have lovely Donegal with its mountains and valleys and magnificent sea-views
and a visit to the awesome Cliffs of Moher on the fringes of the Burren
of County Clare is a must.

There is also
Kinsale,known as the gourmet capitol of Ireland in county Cork, and of
course the famous Blarney castle with it’s Blarney stone which bestows
the "Gift of the Gab" on anybody who kisses it.
A must for many
tourists is a visit to the Waterford crystal factory and Waterford city,
a town founded by the vikings.
And of course
there is Dublin city with all its historical landmarks , its great night
life with wonderful theatres and the famous Irish pubs. |
