Foreword

Choosing a Post Primary School for your daughter's education is a very important decision. I invite you to consider Eureka Secondary School for the next stage of your child's education.

This Prospectus gives an outline of the school's aims, policies and procedures. At the heart of all of these, is our concern for the welfare, happiness and success of each student who is entrusted to our care . The school community is seen as a partnership between students, parents, staff and management.

Eureka Secondary School is a Post Primary School for girls which is renowned for its high standards and excellent academic results.

Achievements
Past Pupils of the school have achieved success in many different walks of life, in Ireland and abroad, and the school has continued to adapt and change so as to cater for young women of all abilities and equip them for further studies, for employment, and for life.

The success of the school is based on the commitment to academic excellence and personal and spiritual development. These help pupils not only to be successful, but to grow into young women who have confidence, integrity, and spiritual values.

The school places a strong emphasis on discipline, as it is seen as essential for the pupils self-development, and ensures an effective learning environment for all. A detailed code of dicipline, agreed by management, staff, parents and pupils, is available.

The examination results of the pupils of Eureka are consistently above the national average at all levels. The school caters for pupils of all abilities, challenging them to achieve their full potential. The vast majority go to third level education, and are welcomed for their work ethic and commitment.








Parental Involvement


The School is committed to mantaining a supportive partnership with Parents. They are involved in the life of the school in the following ways:

  • The Parents Council meets regularly and has a consultative and supportive role in the school.

  • There are two parent representatives on the Board of Management.

  • Information Evenings for parents at important times eg. when pupils enroll in the school for First Year, choice of Senior cycle subjects and programmes, health education issues etc.

  • Twice yearly Student Reports.

  • Twice yearly Newsletter

  • Parent Teacher Meetings for each year group.
