(if you decide you need to transfer a player out).
The competition finishes on Saturday 22nd December 2001.
Note : - another new competition is run from January
to May 2002.
Choosing your Team
All managers are
given a budget of £70 million, which must not be exceeded at any
point in the competition. Every squad must have a total of 15 players
, consisting of a
formation of 2 goalkeepers, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, and 5
strikers. Your team must also contain
no more than 3 players from any one
Premiership club in your squad, throughout the competition.
Points System
Points are awarded to the players in your squad based on their performances in the English F.A. Premiership each week
between Sunday and the following Saturday.
They are awarded as follows:
FOR EVERY PLAYER
- Appearance (any part of a match) +5 points
- Goal scored by a Striker +3 points
- Goal scored by a Midfielder +5 points
- Goal scored by a Defender +8 points
- Goal scored by a Goalkeeper +20 points
- Hatrick earns the player an EXTRA +15 points
- Penalty scored +3 points
- Penalty not scored -3 points
- Booked (yellow card) -3 points
- Sent off ( i.e. 2nd yellow card resulting in a red card) -5 points (1st yellow card not included in this.)
- Instant dismissal i.e. red card -15 points
- Own goal -1 point
FOR DEFENDERS/GOALKEEPERS
- Goal conceded by Goalkeeper -2 points
- Goal conceded by Defender -2 points
- Clean sheet + 3 points
- Penalty saved by Goalkeeper +3 points
Clean sheets are awarded to goalkeepers & defenders for a match only if :
- they make an appearance at some stage during the match (whatever length of time), and
- their team completes the whole game without conceding a goal.
Transfers
Transfers = Where a new player is bought and replaces an existing player in your squad.
8 transfers is the maximum allowed per competition.
2 transfers is the maximum allowed per week.
IMPORTANT :
You must stay within your £70 million budget.
- i.e. If the total value of your team is already £70 million and
you want to transfer two players
OUT whose total value is
£4 million then the two players you transfer
IN cannot cost
more than £4 million.
Another scenario would be :
The total value of your team is only £65 million, you want to transfer 2 players out worth £4 million combined, so the total available budget for transferring your two new players in is £9 million, i.e.
(Max Allowed Value) - (Current Team Value) - (Value of Players Transferring Out) = Available Budget for Players Transferring In
70 - 65 - 4 = 9
You must keep the same formation.
- i.e. 2 goalkeepers, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 5 strikers at all stages in the competition.
You also must make sure you have no more than 3 players from any one Premiership club in your squad, at any time during the competition.
Transfers must be made by 3 p.m. on any Saturday, once the
transfer window opens on Sunday 23rd September, so first transfer(s) can be made in the week leading up to Saturday 22nd.
Player transfers must be submitted before the beginning of
a new week, i.e. transfers submitted before 3 p.m. on any
Saturday will take effect a day later on the Sunday. If received
after that time, the transfer will take effect from the following
week.
Any transfer application submitted that contains more than
2 transfers, or does not meet the criteria (i.e. incorrect
formation - defender for a midfielder) will be deemed null
and void and rejected.
Final possible transfer date Saturday 15th December.
Extra
Notes
Any players that change Premiership clubs during the competition will remain
registered with their original club, while at the same time clocking up
points based on their performance for their new Premiership team until the end of
that competition.
In the event of a tie, prize money will be shared equally between those that end up on the same points.
i.e. If two people end up having the same top score then 1st and second prizes will be shared equally between them.
The League is updated every Wednesday and the scoring week runs from
Sunday to Saturday.
