ZX Spectrum owners!
The comp.sys.sinclair Crap Games Competition 2003 has been going for a couple of weeks now and there are already some excellent entries.
I spent quite a while (8 minutes) on my first entry, Advanced Chuntey Simulator. Probably best on a real Spectrum but failing that make sure your emulator is in real time...
Read the comp.sys.sinclair folklore FAQ for an explanation of the chuntey.

misteralfie was kind enough

to point me in the direction of Lil' Markie on the b3ta board - It's a Show and Tell record (lots of fundamentalist christian allegory for growing minds...) about all sorts of positive elements of modern life including abortion, being overweight and drug abuse. I don't know what his problem is but it's bigger than anything I can claim my own.
"Diary of an unborn child" is made available for your enjoyment. misteralfie provided us a shockwave animation just in case you didn't quite get the idea but I'm not too sure you want to see that...

A funny thing happenned to me on the way to...

Well, not funny - more disturbing. Walking home from work today through Merrion Square I was set upon by masses of frenzied radio listeners asking if I was the "98FM Fugitive" - apparently some station publicity stunt which has been going on for a few while now. I first heard of the promo a couple of weeks back during a coffee break - I pointed out that this sort of thing is bad for people who listen to radio. The average FM radio fan loves shouting and is easily whipped into a foaming frenzy. I knew it would lead to people being annoyed, set upon, followed, whatever - today I saw I was right. People were running around as if tomorrow had been announced a fiction...
...and I escaped with my tolerance for these vacuous, drivelling morons barely intact.

David Rocci vs the US Gov

In the continuing fight for freedom and liberty the US Government this week took control of isonews.com. I was never a visitor to the site before this but I think this post to comp.sys.sinclair sums up my feelings:

Subject: Re: [so-called PIRACY] Industry 1 - common sense 0

g0mem wrote:

Well, the two most high-profile cases so far have been against a Russian
and a Norwegian... America rules the universe - feel the freedom.
If you are distributing any information which may contravene the DMCA it
is probably a good idea to include a disclaimer on your front page
stating the content is not intended for those within any US territories
/ jurisdiction.
Regarding the subject line - The ISONews site's main purpose was piracy
though that does not bother me one iota. What does bother me is the
prison term David Rocci is going to serve - he is no physical threat to
anyone so his prison term is purely to 'set an example' to other warez
kiddies out there - feel the freedom.
Oh, and the US Gov *really* suck at web design ;)
