Chinese hackberry

This deciduous small tree with delicate branches is widespread in Italy in well-exposed places; its glittering leaves are lance-shaped. Its bark is gray and quite smooth. Its flowers blossom in May and originate spherical edible fruits, which in summer become reddish and then black.
