Common Ash

Common ash

Coming from Europe, it is an important timber tree. It can be 35-40 m tall. It blossoms in April: the young male bunches are purple-red while the tender green female flowers are lighter. The fruits, with a 4 cm long wing slightly dented on the apex, become brown in autumn and stay on the branches for a little time after the fall of the leaves.
