A hugely talented Clon side easily accounted for their more illustrious Cork Schoolboys League opponents in opening round of the Cork section of National Cup following a nine goal thriller. Clonakilty were not to be denied however and immediately took control of proceedings. The AFC re-took the lead courtesy of a fine Jack Cowhig effort. Eoin Ryan put Clon further ahead and then Brian Chan and Cian Crowley netted to make it 5-1. Temple United were shell-shocked but pulled another goal back with only 10 minutes left.
