Established as far back as 1897, this course is reckoned to have the toughest finishing holes to any course in Ireland with the Sharnadh River traversed three times in the last three hole. The opening five holes are on flat terrain which makes for a gentle introduction that does not prepare the golfer for the following holes. The par 3 6th hole is played across river to a green on a ledge with the valley beyond. The 7th to 14th holes spiral up and around the hill to a most scenic part of the course. Achieving par over the closing holes is considered no mean feet. Muskerry is without doubt one of the most difficult courses in Ireland but extremely rewarding none the less. Its location just a short drive from Cork City make it an ideal location for all golfers. This is Parkland golf at its best.
