O u r H i s t o r y

The Tara Foundation began in 2004, with the perception that the Irish Government's scrapping of heritage protection and their plan to build a motorway through one of the most important archaeological regions on earth were not isolated events, but manifestations of an ideology to which all people who favour representative democracy owe their opposition.

O u r M i s s i o n

The Tara Foundation is dedicated to campaigning to preserve Ireland's natural and cultural heritage. We are not connected with any political party or interest group. If we promote a campaign, it is to serve the interest of the issue in question, not to promote our own. The issues we address in these pages, though specific to Ireland, have their roots in forces that threaten ordinary people everywhere. Hitherto, we have funded our efforts from our own resources.

(Deputy Allen: I thank Mr. McMahon for his comprehensive presentation to the committee. We all received the same e-mail regarding the incident to which Senator Norris referred. It came from the Tara Foundation.)

  • We consistently contact organisations and news media around the world to create awareness and exchange information.
