Identification Help Wanted
This page contains items I need help to identify.
4th August
Fungus growing on mossy grass, 1' from a footpath, under a Scots Pine tree. 1" long x 1/2" wide and 3/4" tall. New specimens have exactly the same oval profile. The image on the right shows young specimens at about 3/8" long. Confirmed Helvella corium.
These are 2 underside images:-
Rush (I think) growing in marshy places, but feet usually dry. Up to 18" tall. Starts as the reddish fan on the left, then the fan lifts, and each red fanlet becomes an inflorescence somewhat similar to Jointed Rush (right image). It's a gall - Livia juncorum.
23rd November
3 ferns growing on a wall: leaves are 3" long max. I'm wondering if no's 2 or 3 might be a young hard fern.
2 willows, the one on the left has leaves 3" long, very shiny. The one on the right has small (1") grey leaves.
