High Heath.

Cold and wet.

This is an update on the Gloeophyllum sepiarium from last year. It's now about 12 cm. long. Rarely seen in Ireland (this is the first specimen), this species is more commonly encountered in Scandanavia.

This is an old seedhead of Bog Asphodel - Narthecium ossifragum.

And this is a scene-setting shot of the heath planted with youngish conifers. The pale patches are Cladonia portentosa.
